It is exhausting with how many things there are to do each morning before heading off to work. You lay there at night wide awake thinking about your laundry list of to-do’s that need to get done next day. And because you spent all night worrying, you end up being a zombie come morning, you can’t remember what you need to bring to work, and your day is over before it even started. We’ve compiled a list of tips to make sure you are refreshed, recharged, and ready to go each morning so you can have the best day yet!
1. Pick out your outfit the night before!
Believe it or not, having a successful morning routine starts with the night before. It is a huge time saver to pick out your outfit, from shirt to shoes, the night before to save the unnecessary stress of “I don’t know what to wear!” Keep a spare hanger handy and place a hook over your bedroom door so you can hang up your next-day outfit in advance!
2. Meal prep!
Sunday nights can become your time for meal prepping a week’s worth of lunches in advance. Buy 5 reusable Tupperware containers from the store and pack sandwiches, crackers, fruit, and veggies in each to keep in the fridge. If this is a little bit TOO prepared for your liking, just pack as much of your lunch as you can the night before. Wrap a pre-made sandwich in plastic wrap and keep it in the fridge overnight or throw a granola bar & other prepackaged food in your lunch bag. Even something this simple can make a different from being on time or late in the morning.
3. Get 7-8 hours of sleep every night!
Easier said than done, right? But when you’ve done all you can to be ready the night before, it’s less stress and less to think about, so you can calm your mind and drift off to sleep. Another tip to fall asleep faster, and we know you’ve heard this before, is to not scroll through your phone before bed! Your mind starts racing all over again, when what you need to be doing is clearing your mind.
4. Drink a big glass of lemon water first thing in the morning!
Lemon helps your digestive system and will get your body ready and energized to start the day! Lemons also help to boost your immune system, and by drinking a glass of lemon water upon waking, it gives your body a chance to absorb these vitamins effectively and provides a little immune boost.
5. Don’t skip out on breakfast!
Don’t mean to sound like your mom here, but breakfast really IS the most important meal of the day! Have a quick bowl of cereal or yogurt to get your body fueled and your mind focused so that when you get to work, you can start in on your most important assignments right away. If you follow all of the above tips, then you will absolutely have time to sit down and eat a quick breakfast every morning.
